I want to celebrate baby number two but we have everything. And would only need clothes and diaper and wipes.
We also had a baby in July 2023.. and did a huge baby shower over 100 people and I don't want to do that
I have two ideas
Inviting people over for dinner and doing a surprise gender reveal
Or
Only doing close friends and family having a party. But saying just bring a small pack of diapers or wipes.
What do you guys think? I feel bad saying I don't want to do anything. But I also don't think I would go to one if it was back to back.
Just asking for opinions

I think having a celebration for the baby is always a good idea no matter the number! Some people I know have done a backyard bbq type thing with food/games and people just brought diapers and wipes or small gifts. The invites had a tactful way of saying no need to bring anything but if you’d like to get some diapers/wipes you can. (I don’t remember the wording). Both of your ideas sound good, just depends on what you want more! :)

Every baby deserves to be celebrated!! I’m pregnant with #2 and my mom’s throwing me a shower/ sprinkle. My first pregnancy was during Covid 2020 and my “big” shower got cancelled so we had a small get together for that.
I already have all the “big” items we need but we have a son and this baby is a girl! so I’m just requesting diapers and maybe girl clothes
Congrats!!

I think we may do a sprinkle but around here people think it can be tacky to have a second shower. Mainly to celebrate baby, because I refuse to celebrate one and not the other.

My SIL suggested we do a gender reveal and ask people to bring diapers. I personally am not a huge fan of parties where I’m the center of attention in such a big way so I really don’t want to, but it’s a pretty smart idea too. lol

I had a sprinkle for my 2nd, and my sister planned it/threw it for me. it was just immediate family ( my parents, siblings + spouses, and their kids) it was amazing.
I wasn't expecting it though, it was surprise. my boys are 3 yrs apart so I had pretty much everything already. we got diapers, clothes, and a few baby toys.

I’m not throwing myself a sprinkle or shower but we are just planning to throw a BabyQ where we will celebrate baby number 2 in a very low key kind of way, we’re not requesting gifts or anything just friends and family getting together to celebrate.

I would just have a get-together, as small or big as you want. I would make it clear in my invitations that it's to celebrate baby #2, and also that gifts are not required but that if they want to give something then diapers/wipes are appreciated. If it was me I would put up some decorations that show you're celebrating a baby, but not necessarily make whatever activities are available baby-themed if that makes sense. Whatever you do, I hope you all have fun
